Steve Beecher hails from Southern California, and is a member of DKP III. Steve's VW stable includes his '52 Split, '54 'vert, and his '66 bus. We will let Steve tell you in his own words about
these three fine VWs.
52 Split: Bought in 1974, originally on a 68 pan when it was shipped from Belgium in 71. With no loss there he bought a wrecked 71 and tossed the body. I rebuilt and installed a 901
Porsche 5/ZF limited slip trans. into the pan, installed front disc's with dropped spindles & early 4.5"X5.5" alloys, and went thru every thing else. Strapped for cash, I helped a friend of mine
paint the car in his garage. Interior by Deano's auto trim.

54 Cabro: Bought in 1986. Again, I had original pan problems, as the original pan was trash, even though the body was fairly clean. I did another 71 pan thing, rebuilt the pan & drive
train. He added IRS discs on the front. I just started restoring the car this year. Medrano's did the paint and Chuck's Upholstery did the top. I just need to finish the interior.
66 bus: Original paint driver. busboy's style sedan trans. C/W 69mm crank w/machine-in Cima 88s@8.5:1. Doghouse, F.F. filter, kadrons, 110 cam, balanced, w/stock ported & matched heads.
